Hatchet 3: Hatchet 3 Horror Film is the third installment in the Hatchet film series. It is a story about Victor Crowley, his murderous rampage through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder portrays Victor Crowley while Brian Quinn plays Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanbilt plays Misty.



Its practical special effects are the film's greatest strength. Hatchet 3 is a horror film that employs CG effects less than many other films. Hatchet 3 has a lot of practical makeup effects and sets that result in some really horrific scenes in the movie.

The cast is solid and the lead actor Kane Hodder proving to be an intimidating villain. The dialogue is a bit snarky and tongue-in-cheek for it to be reminiscent of a classic '80s slasher movie at moments. There are moments of humor in the (blog post) film that add humor to all bloody action.

Unfortunately, the film's budget was restricted to just one million dollars. This means that many locations featured in the film are re-used from earlier films. One boat house is featured twice, and the majority of the scenes feel like they're recycled from other films. It's almost like it's familiar to viewers who have seen Hatchet or Hatchet 2.

Overall, Hatchet 3 was an enjoyable series. I enjoyed the violent thrills it offered as well as the engaging performances of the actors.
